Advisory Council

The JMC Advisory Council is a group of industrial, business, and professional leaders who are committed to the vitality of the School of Journalism at Kansas State University. The council helps the School to strengthen its learning, research, and outreach programs, improve its facilities, prepare it for the short and long-term future, expand its base of support, and serve its alumni. Council members actively participate in the continual assessment of the school’s progress and the development of school/industry partnerships.  Specifically, Advisory Council members are asked to:

  • Provide advice from the perspective of alumni, successful communications practitioners, industry and business leaders and other external entities regarding the relevance of our programs and the efficiency of our internal operations.
  • Provide a connection between our faculty and students and the various industries that the Advisory Council Members represent.
  • Provide leadership among the K-State JMC alumni; this leadership comes in the form of service and financial support.

The JMC Advisory Council will meet on September 4, 2009.
