Sunflower Room, K-State Student Union
Kansas State University — Manhattan, Kan.
Presented By:
The A.Q. Miller School of Mass Communications
and the Huck Boyd National Center for Community Media
at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS
As in past years, we’re looking forward to presentations from a mix of academic scholars and
broadcast professionals, sharing their research into the history of radio in the Great Plains region.
Typically, we have seven to nine presentations during the day, augmented by spirited, informal
discussions about radio history and current radio practices on the Thursday night before — and
the Friday evening of — the Symposium. There is no charge for any of the events. Lunch will be
available on Friday for under $10.
The A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications is pleased to sponsor the
Symposium as a means of preserving important regional radio history and to bring radio scholars
and professionals together in a relaxed atmosphere. The 2009 papers and audio materials will join
those already placed into permanent archive at KSU’s Hale Library.
